Executive Chef Jim Nemeth has been with Battleground CC since June of 2002. Jim came to us after holding Executive Chef positions at Sheraton Eatontown Hotel and Conference Center, where he earned the “Best of the Best Banquet and Catering for 2000” from the Asbury Park Press; and the former Holiday Inn Center Point in Monroe. His career began in 1989 as a pantry cook in a hotel in Raritan Center and he advanced to his first Chef title, after just 2 ½ years, as Banquet Chef of the Crowne Plaza in White Plains, NY in 1992. He secured his first Executive Chef position at age 27 at the Holiday Inn Center Point.
Jim graduated from the Professional Food Preparation program at Middlesex County College ranked first in his class in 1989, after changing career paths from a Rutgers University biology major.
Jim resides in East Brunswick with his wife Erin and 2 children, Kylie and James, who both work in the Banquet department here at Battleground Country CC.
